“Faislaa” (1965) was a quintessential B grade movie produced by Jugal Kishore Productions. It was directed by Jugal Kishore. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Jagdeep,L. Vijayalaxmi, Jugal Kishore, Jeevan, Sulochana Chatterji, Niranjan Sharma,Helen etc.

“Cha Cha Cha” (1964) is Bhavdeep Films production. It was produced and Directed by Chandrashekhar. He was also the hero of this movie. He had signed up Helen to play the heroine opposite him. So this movie was one of the rare occasions when Helen was not a one song wonder but got to sing lots of songs and got to act in a Bhartiya Naari kind of role.

Public have a se idea about the roles that the two genders play and they are used to the same roles being played by them in Hindi movies too. But sometimes movie makers come up with situations when the two genders behave in a rather unusual manner not expected of that gender and that makes amusing viewing for the public and subsequently more visits to the cinema hall for the movie makers.

Haay unki wo nigaahen

1950s saw a trend of suspense movies in Hndi movies. These movies were obviously inspired by Western movies of the same genre. Some nice suspense movies got made in that decade.
Hindi suspense movies had one thing that was missing in Western suspense movies, viz songs. 😀 And seeing what great musical talents Hindi movies had at that disposal, music lovers have been left with a rich legacy of great songs from such movies.

Another one of those songs that must find its due place on this blog. This is a gem of a Talat rendition, that has been a favorite of mine since childhood. But sometimes music directors may copy the musical style of other more established music directors. We have seen music directors copying the musical styles of O P Nayyar,Shankar Jaikishan etc in the past.
