Two days back on the occasion of Yusuf Khan’s (Dilip Kumar to all of us) Atul had said and I quote
“when I decided to find Dilip Kumar songs to discuss, I realised that almost all the Dilip Kumar movies have already been painted orange, viz all the songs of these movies have already been discussed in the past. There are a few Dilip Kumar movies where a few songs are not yet discussed, but these songs are picturised on actors other than Dilip Kumar.”

“Adl e Jahangir” (1955) was produced and directed by G P Sippy under the banner of G P Productions. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Meena Kumari, Sapru, Roopmala, Jankidas, Darpan, Durga Khote, G.P.Sippy etc in it.

The tale of Tarzan was used in Hindi movies beginning from 1937. The original Hindi Tarzan movie was called “Toofaani Tarzan” (1937). This movie was a Wadia Movietone production. It was directed by Homi Wadia. The movie had John Cawas in the title role. The starcast of the movie had John Cawas, Gulshan, Boman Shroff, Chandrashekhar, Nazira, Dalpat, Ahmed Dilwar etc. A wonderful review of this movie is available in Memsaab’s blog.

In this blog, there are songs that belong to the category of “Why was this song not discussed earlier” category. Then there are cases of movies where the movie itself was/is not represented in the blog. “Aradhana” (1969) was one movie that was not represented for a long time. Same was the case with “Khilona”(1970).

“Mughal e Azam” (1960) was a mega block buster in all respects, be it the movie, or its music. There were several songs in this movie and almost all of them have gone on to become evergreen iconic songs.
