Today’s song is from a Mythological film- Navratri-1955.
The word ‘Navratri’ evokes memories of the festive atmosphere of Dussehra and the following fun days of Diwali, just about 3 weeks ahead. During our childhood, this was the time to buy new clothes or something which the parents had promised to give us at Diwali time. In the evening a gang of surrounding friends used to go visiting our friends in other areas. Meeting elders and seeking their blessings was mandatory.

‘Wanted’ (1961) was produced by Tony Walker under his banner, Golden Films and was directed by N A Ansari. The cast included Vijay Kumar, Sayeeda Khan, Johny Walker, Shammi, Rajan Kapoor, Nazeer Hussain, N A Ansari, Anwar Hussan, Helen, Manorama, Dulari etc. This was Tony Walker’s first film as a producer in which he launched his younger brother, with a screen name of Vijay Kumar as a lead actor. Probably, this is the only film in which all the three brothers – Johny Walker (Badruddin Kazi), Tony Walker (Kamaluddin Kazi) and Vijay Kumar (Waheeduddin Kazi) worked together.

Those are about 200. Add to it my 9 books already published (5 Solo and 4 co-authored). Over 500 film reviews and comments on this and other Blogs which are about 700 +. Being a methodical person, I have kept records of all these. Learning ABCD of work on Computers at the age of 70 years, I could do all this at this age is the Greatest Blessing of the Almighty. Thanks to Him !

Hullo Atuldom
Wishing all Indians a Very Happy Republic Day.
(Cannot recall people greeting each other in this manner in the pre-WhatsApp days, though. 🤔)
Its India’s 76th Republic Day and as I can see we have had some patriotic songs posted on the blog over the last few days thanks to Avinashji remembering the efforts of Azad Hind Sena, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and all the patriots of the freedom struggle that culminated in India’s Independence in 1947.

(75 Years of Republic Of India #Desh Kee Mittee Kee Khushboo#)
Today on 26th January 2025 we are celebrating the 76th Republic Day for our country. This day marks the adoption of Indian Constitution for our Nation which was till then governed by the acts enacted in British Rule. We got our political freedom on 15th August 1947 and it took us two years and five months to implement our own constitution. On this occasion I wish a very happy republic day to all.

Today’s song is from an unreleased film ‘Hamaari Kahaanee-1973’. This movie was directed by B.V. Algikar for ‘Navprakash Chitra, Bombay’. It had Master Shripad, Baby Ragini, Master Vinayak, Master Kiran, Sulochana, Abhi Bhattacharya, Dhoomal and others. Geet Kosh Vol-V (1971-1980) lists three songs for this movie, leaving space for possibility of more songs in this movie. Two songs are written by Asad Bhopali, and one song is written by Jaan Nisar Akhtar. Music for this movie is composed by C. Arjun. (More than a year back I had come across another song from this movie which I had noted for some other occasion.) The singers for this movie are Usha Mangeshar, Manna Dey and Mohd Rafi. Today I present a song sung by Mohd Rafi which is written by Jaan Nisar Akhtar.
