Here is a song that was highly popular during its time when I was an impressionable kid in my pre teens. For a change, I knew which movie this song was from. This song was the title song of “Ganwaar” (1970). The voice of Rafi was unmistakable.

I maintain that some of the most memorable O P Nayyar compositions have been picturised not on regular heroes, but on a comedian,viz Johny Walker. In some of these movies, Johny Walker in fact played the hero as well.

I was aware of a movie called “Haseenon Ka Devtaa”, but now I realise that there was another movie called “Gunaahon Ka Devtaa” (1967). This movie “Gunaahon Ka Devtaa” (1967) had Jeetendra and Rajshree in lead roles.

There was a time when India had only one TV channel and that used to telecast boring programmes and news. Now we have countless channels including several news channels. These news channels are often short of ideas and they try to create news out of thin air and call that as “breaking news”. Typically the reporter of the channel will go to a certain site and try to describe a breaking news item, and he will struggle to find things to say.
