In Hindi movies, we have examples of movie makers who would ensure that their movie titles began with some particular letters of the alphabet. Thus J Omprakash’s movies will always begin with “A”, and in case of Arjun Hingorani movies, the title would be of three words, each beginning with K. Then there were movie makers who regarded certain words as lucky for them. When one thinks of a bolt of lightning, it recreates in the mind the crackling sound of particles in the air subjected to currents of extremely high voltage, streaks of very very bright light zig-zagging across the sky, the rumbling sounds of thunder that follow the flash of light in a matter of few seconds. People who have witnessed bolts of lightning at very close quarters recount the intensity of both the sound and the flash of light. Under the banner of Navketan ( Navketan Films, Navketan International and Navketan Enterprises), there were many films which have become immortals. Films like ‘Nau Do Gyarah (1957), ‘Kaala Baazar (1960), ‘Tere Ghar Ke Saamne’ (1963), ‘Guide’ (1965) and ‘Jewel Thief’ (1967) have been known for the good story and screen play, good music and fast paced direction from Vijay Anand in particular, the song picturisation in these films.
