When you are young, you only like to listen to “modern” songs and hate listening to old songs calling them boring. Here is a song that was old even by my standards of 1970s when I was growing up. But show me a song that could be more modern than this by now 51 year old song.

I have mentioned it many times that Chitragupta, despite his outstanding musical talent would not go out and socialise with big wigs of the industry and that is what prevented him from landing big banner movies. With time, I have posted all the songs from some movies- viz “Barsaat”(1949), “Dholak”(1950), “Madhumati” (1958) etc. In case of other movies, I am gradually building up the list song by song.

In the picturisation of this song, Dharmendra has just realised that Hema Malini is in love with him. Having made this discovery, Dharmendra jumps up and down all over the place, singing this joyous song, and Hema Malini is naturally embarrased at this public display of Dharmendra’s love for her.

When I was growing up in the early 70s, Kishore was easily the dominant male voice in Bollywood. He was everywhere and with every new movie he seemed to only deliver more hits.
