Believe it or not, there was a movie called “Gyaarah hazaar ladkiyaan” (eleven thousand girls). This 1962 movie had Bharat Bhushan and Mala Sinha in lead roles.

In the second half of 1950s, we had movie titles beginning with Miss, Mr and so on. thus we had movies like Miss India, Miss India, Mr X, Mr and Mrs 55 etc.

There was a time when I was an avid movie watcher. Those were the days when one could watch movies only at movie halls. I used to wonder whether we will even be in a position when we will be able to watch movies of our choice at home, any time of the day. My hopes were stuff of science fiction in 1970s when I thought about it, but now, three decades onwards, it has become a reality.
