Howsoever enchanting and inviting the emotions of love may seem, there are many a heart that fear the onset. As the feelings of youth begin to sprout inside, the heart is at once both eager to savor the flavors of this emotion, and yet nervous and afraid to step into this unfamiliar and unpredictable terrain. The mind recalls many a stories told of the agonies of love and the pains of loss. This article is my small tribute to Ustad Amir Khan (15/08/1912 – 13/02/1974) on the occasion of his 40th death anniversary which falls on February 13, 2014. He was the founder of the Indore Gharana though personally he did not like to be associated with any gharanas. He maintained that he belonged to the Hindustani gharana and other gharanas were like its sub-branches. But his disciples gave the name of Indore gharana for his unique style of rendition.

Another solo by Geeta Dutt to continue the series. Actually it is the same team as the last song from “Sitaaron se Aage “ viz. Majrooh Sultanpuri and S. D. Burman. This happens to be a song not used and excluded song from the film ‘ Paying Guest ’ (1957) It may not have been picturized, as only audio links are available on youtube. Incidently, this is the remaining song from the film to be posted. Another great score is completed with this song.
