Today’s song is from the Sci-Fi film Gogola-1966. This is the last and final song of the film here.
According to the Internet information available on http://www.geeksforgeeks.org, as on 6-3-2024, the First 10 biggest Cinema industries in the World are….
| Country | Speciality/ strong point |
|---|---|
| Hollywood In USA | Blockbusters, Technology, Cultural Influence |
| Bollywood IN India | Colourful Musical Dramas, Global Appeal |
| Nollywood IN Nigeria | Prolific, Cost Effective, Family and Love Films |
| China | Box Office Revenue, Infrastructure, Production Volume |
| United Kingdom | Historical Epics, Strong Storytelling, Global Presence |
| South Korea | High production Value, Innovative Storytelling, Thrillers |
| France | Artistic Films, New Wave, Film Festivals |
| Japan | Variety of Genres, Aesthetic Innovation, Samurai Epics |
| Italy | Art Cinema, Compelling Storytelling, Visual Flair |
| Russia | Epic Narratives, Historicals, Animation |
From the above data, one can conclude that it is only the Indian industry which provides only entertainment. It was never famous for Innovative stories, Technical advances or Sci Fi films. The entire focus has been and is even today on giving entertainment. However, as I noticed from the last few years, there have been some subtle changes and a lot of films on National issues, National personalities and films highlighting people who mattered in the development of the country have been made and these have received massive support from the viewers, encouraging more such adventures. In due course it surely will reflect on the Indian film industry in the world’s eyes.

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Romeo In Sikkim-1975’. This movie has been introduced recently on the blog with a song sung by Mukesh on 25.06.2023. Today we add the second song from this movie on the blog. In fact this song was the first song that I had drafted for sharing. But when I noticed that this movie had a song sung by Mukesh, then I shared that song with our dear Mahesh ji so that it could get introduced on the blog during the‘birth centenary year’ of the legendary singer Mukesh.

Today’s song is from the ‘1975’ movie ‘Ponga Pandit’. I have not watched this movie yet, but I vaguely recall this name from my childhood days. I was aware of a couple of songs from this movie. Songs of this movie were played frequently on ‘loud-speakers’. This movie, I think was not a ‘successful movie’ in terms of collections.

When I was informed that today (8 May 2023) is World Donkey Day, then my Initial reaction was to have a hearty laugh. I thought that yesterday (7 May ) was World laughter day. How come the next day is an extension of that Laughter day. I in fact thought of writing a post of World Donkey day. I asked Avinash Scrapwala, who sent me lyrics of a song for World laughter day, for a song for World Donkey day. He promptly sent me lyrics of a song.
My original idea was to write a light hearted post on this occasion. But when I carried out some research on the subject, the mood of amusement soon turned into a sombre mood. I realised that making fun of Donkeys was unfair. They have traditionally been given a rough deal in Indian culture which they did not deserve. Even our Hindi film songs where donkeys have been covered, have used donkeys as a matter of ridicule. When I listened to the song sent on this occasion, I was relieved to know that Donkey is not made a subject of ridicule in this song that I was afraid of.
