February 23, 2026 was the 57th Remembrance Day of Madhubala (14/02/1933 – 23/02/1969) who was called the ‘Venus of India’. In the words of Rinki Roy (daughter of producer-director, Bimal Roy), ‘Madhubala is the face of original celluloid diva’. Dev Anand, in his autobiography, ‘Romancing With Life’ (2007) has described Madhubala as the ‘most beautiful of all the heroines in the fairyland of films, with her natural looks, always fresh as morning dew. Her childlike innocence was accentuated by the most noticeable trait of her character, her famous giggle’.

There are still many things which can be discussed with new angles and especially new information found on the older artists can be brought out.

This is my 1800th post here !
Oh, my God !! It is simply unbelievable !!!

I started writing posts here from 1-10-2012 and in almost 13.5 years’ time, I wrote 1800 posts here. Add to it another 100 odd posts elsewhere, on different aspects of Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Kannada films and I start thinking if I am really the same person ?

After quitting my Pharma work totally as a career (retirement in 1998, as a General Manager-Marketing and then as a Consultant upto 2008), I turned to my favourite subject – Old films and songs, starting only as a commentator on articles of other writers initially. I was initiated into writing posts by ATUL JI. So, whatever my achievements in this field are, the credit goes to ATUL JI, for his help, encouragement and for providing opportunity. Thank you, ATUL JI !
