# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 125 # Khaleefaa-1976
——————————————-—————————
Welcome all to this post where once again we are going back to ‘one song movie’ on the blog.
Today’s movie is ‘Khaleefaa-1976’. This movie made its debut on the blog on 02.09.2008 with its most popular song ‘dil machal rahaa hai, rang badal rahaa hai’.
However, the movie is waiting for its second song since 02.09.2008 and that makes a 4579 days l-o-n-g wait for this movie … (so, as of now, this is the record for maximum days between first and the second song of a movie on the blog. The earlier record was for 4540 days here .).

The film ‘Pyaase Dil’, from 1974 is an unfamiliar and obscure entity. However, not for the readers of this blog. This film has been discussed briefly, and not so briefly, in the three posts of the songs of this film that have appeared so far on this blog. The film has a total of four songs. This post brings forth the fourth and the final song of this film on to the blog today. I am sure the word is already in the mind and lips of the regulars, and I do not have to spell out Yippeee, to mark this event.

I was in school when the songs of this film hit the radio waves. The film apparently made almost no impact, for I did not register its name or other details ever. And it was only after joining Song-a-Day team, that I came to know about the details of this film, even its name. A while back I had posted one song from this film – “Ye Dil Nasheen Nazaare Karte Hain Kya Ishaare”, and that was when I searched for and found the details of this film. And it was then that I realized that three of the new favorites (referring to the time I was in school) are all from the same film ‘Pyaase Dil’ (1974). (Ah yes, Prakash ji, after reading your comment, I thought more wait is not good to get this third song in 🙂 ).

“Inspector” seems to be a popular title in Hindi movies of 1950s and later. One movie of this name was produced in 1956 and another movie of the same title was released in 1970. Both these movies ended up becoming obscure quickly enough.

When the lyrics and details of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra,I thought that he must have made a mistake as I have definitely posted this well known Rafi song in the blog. On checking, I found that I had not discussed this song, rather I had discussed the other well known song from this movie sung by Mukesh (Main dhoondhta hoon jinko ).

“Waapas”(1969) is a movie that had unknown actors in it and the movie sank without a trace. Those were the days when the Indian movie audience were too immature and simplistic in their choices and any movie even slightly off the mainstream track tended to flounder badly.

I think I should have a new tag for those songs that were very popular in my younger days but I had no clue about the details of these songs. I would love to listen to these songs, only to forget all about them with passage of time. I have been re discovering those songs again now a days. There are several such songs, as I keep mentioning in my posts.

Listening to this song prima facie reminds one of the tune of the song “Rangeela re” (“Prem Pujaari”), but as one begins to listen further to this song, this song sounds nice on its own merit.
