# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 120 # Remembering Parveen Babi#
——————————————-————————————————-——

“Dhuen Ki Lakeer-1974” was directed by Kishore Sahu for ‘Rupanjali Productions Ltd, Bombay’. It had Parveen Babi, Ramesh Arora, Dinu Harish, Preeti Ganguly (all four making their debuts in Hindi Cinema), Aatm Prakash, Urmila Bhatt, Pinchoo Kapoor, Lalita Kumari, Major Sudan, Montu, Malini Bhatia, Uma Dutt, Ashalata, Ved Sharma, Khalid, Rajkumar and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 21.07.1974.

“Dhuen Ki Lakeer-1974” had four songs as listed below;

S.No. Song Title Singer Lyricist Posted On
01 Daur wah aa gayaa dil ke armaan beekey Mohd Rafi Saajan Dehalvi
02 Gori ki maang mein sindoor Shamji Ghanshamji Saajan Dehalvi
03 Teri jheel si gehri aankhon mein Nitin Mukesh, Vani Jairam Rameshwar Tyagi 18.01.2009
04 Ek shamaa jaley kahaan Ajit Singh, Krishna Kalle Khalish Dehalvi Being discussed today

It can be seen in above table three lyricist contributed four songs in this movie. Music for this movie was composed by Shamji Ghanshamji who also making his debut as music director with this movie.

I think this was an obscure movie of its time though I am aware of one song from this movie i.e., ‘teri jheel si gehri aankhon mein’ (I vaguely remember to have heard this song on a rainy night on radio in my childhood days and since then I have never forgotten it 😊 ). Also, this song seems to be the only known song from this movie.

Today 20th January 2021 is the ‘sixteenth remembrance anniversary’ (04.04.1954 – 20.01.2005) of one of the beautiful actresses of the seventies Parveen Babi. I have watched many of her movies and liked her performance in all of them. I am going to list all her movies and I leave it for yet another post in the future on her.

On this occasion here is a song from this movie ‘Dhuen Ki Lakeer-1974’. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 18.01.2009. Since that day, 4385 days have passed while this movie is represented in the blog with just this one song i the blog.

Today’s song is sung by Ajit Singh and Krishna Kalle and on screen it is performed by Ramesh Arora and Parveen Babi respectively.

Pinchoo Kapoor, Urmila Bhatt and many others can also be seen in the picturization of this song.

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 118 # (A tribute to Singer Krishna Kalle)
——————————————-————————————————————

‘Sapne Suhaane-1974’ was a ‘social movie’ directed by A.K. Chalukya for ‘Kalpit Chitra, Poona’. It had Kalpit, Soni, Sharma, Arvind, Shefali, Mohan Jery, Mohan Shery, Sundar, Firoza, Lakiram, Master Kalpit, and Padma Chavan (in guest appearance). This movie introduced Anil, Rawal, Suresh, Bina, Suryakant, Gaekwad and Lalsingh Chouhan.

‘Sapne Suhaane-1974’ had three songs. All ere written by Hasrat Jaipuri. Music was composed by Shamji Ghanshamji.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 05.11.1974.

One song from this movie was posted on the blog on 23.07.2013. Our inhouse encyclopedia Shri Arunkumar Deshmukh Sir provided the following information in comments section;

SAPNE SUHANE-1974 was truly an obscure movie.
It was produced by Kalpit Chitra Poona, directed by A.K. Chalukya and the music was by Shyam ji Ghanashyamji (One person-not a jodi), for the lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri. There were only 3 songs in it.
The cast was full of newcomers (all probably debutants or one film actors), like Kalpit, Soni, Sharma, Arvind, Shefali, Firoza, Luckyram, Anil, Raval, Suresh Beena, Suryakant etc.
The story was of a Motor mechanic who dreams of becoming a film actor. He tells his beloved, who is working as a maid with a seth ji, that he will go to Bombay and return only after becoming an actor. Soon he realises the valley between Sapne suhane and the reality

Today we are presenting the second song from this movie which is sung by Krishna Kalle.

Krishna Kalle (18.12.1940 – 15.03.2015) was a known name in Kannada and Marathi Film Music, in addition to Hindi Film Music.

Let us now listen to today’s song …

Only if religion had not fallen out of favor with the film industry. Kya kahen, sab paise ki maya hai (what to say, it is all a money game). The producers say that the public is not interested. And so they will lose money if they make religious films. And so we have been seeing less and less of religious and spiritual themes on screen. Rather, I do not recall seeing any title that indicates a religious film, in the past decade or so.

Today is the 33rd death anniversary of Mohammad Rafi. Or Rafi saab, as he is referred to, by many of his fans, including myself.

So what are my thoughts today?

“Sapne Suhaane” (1974) is a recent movie by the standards of this blog, but hardly any information is available about this movie on internet.

The only thing that seems to be known about this movie are its songs and that too only the audio.

When the lyrics and details of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra,I thought that he must have made a mistake as I have definitely posted this well known Rafi song in the blog. On checking, I found that I had not discussed this song, rather I had discussed the other well known song from this movie sung by Mukesh (Main dhoondhta hoon jinko ).

The movie was no great shakes. But one still needs to sit up and take notice as far as this movie is concerned. The lead characters ( Kiran Kumar and Radha Saluja, I think) do not deserve to lipsync such a divine song, but they do , and in the process try to pull the song down alongwith the movie.

Mukesh had become such a brand name that when his son Nitin decided to become a playback singer like his father, he used his father’s name like a surname and was known as Nitin Mukesh.
