‘Talaash’ (1957) was produced by Daulatram and I M Anand and was directed by Vishram Bedekar. The star cast included Ashok Kumar, Beena Rai, Ameeta, Raj Mehra, Mridula, Radhika, Chaman Puri, Bhushan Tiwari, Nazir Kashmiri, Heera Sawant etc. Gajanan Jagirdar and Yakub made their guest appearances in the film.

21 september 2010 viz this day ten years ago saw six songs from six movies getting covered in the blog. The first song from 1941 was posted at 6:54 AM while the sixth and final song from a movie of 1971 was posted at 8:49 AM. Here are the details of the songs discussed in the blog on that day ten years ago:-

Five out of six movies whose songs appeared in the blog that day have since been YIPPEED. “Pyaase Panchhi”(1961) is a movie which haad ten songs in it and siix of them have been covered so far. Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 63

Ten years ago, I had devised a plan, and I was able to implement it to the full most of the days. The plan was to cover six songs everyday for three days, and then seven songs on the fourth day. That meant the blog added 25 songs in four days. The same cycle got repeated and the blog addeded 25 songs every four days. At the end of fpur such cycles, the blog would add 100 songs in 16 days. In summary, 4 x 25=100, where 25=(6+6+6+7)
The date ten years ago (29 august 2010) was one of those days when seven songs were discussed. Here are the details of these seven songs :-

“Punarmilan” (1964) was a Nagina Films pdoduction. It was directed by Ravindra Dave. The movie had Balraj Sahni, Leela Chitnis, Jagdeep, Shashikala, Ameeta, Padma devi, Mumtaz Begum, Asit Sen, Amarnath, Raja Nene, Narmada Shankar, Gulshan, Child Shaheed, Shyamlal, Aruna etc. in it.

I am not good at remembering important dates, as I have often mentioned in my posts. But these are the days of internet and I log on to my email account daily so messages in my inbox remind me about important dates, viz. birthdays of one’s facebook friends. Note to forgetful husbands- make your wife your facebook friend. That way you will not forget her birthday. 🙂

How nice it would be to be pampered as soon as you get up-with scores of attendants waiting upon you? Ah, indulgence. Mumtaz I envy you ?
Well, I am not crazy. But just crazy about a song from “Samson” in which Mumtaz is the lady who is the privileged one. The picturization shows a princess getting from her bed. A princess whose bed is made up of light and soft feathers, with satin sheets and all ……. A horde of lady attendants waiting on her before she even opens her eyes! The attendants runs up and down fetching her an overcoat, soft/comfy slippers etc. On top of it, there is a lady, Ameeta, singing to her a kind of suprabhaat. Our princess gets praised for her beauty and her youth early in the morning just like the Gods get praised for their magnanimity and benevolence. There is a tinge of sadness in the singer’s expressions which is ever so slight. Does she have dreams of her own pleading with God and is she like a worshipper whose entreaties are shoved to a corner by the Almighty?? May be so ?
