The other day I posted a song from a movie called “Chaand aur Suraj”. I thought that this song was from the same movie. But no, this movie is different. It is called “Suraj aur Chandaa” (1973),

“Aap Aaye Bahaar Aayi” (1971) was a musical blockbuster where every song from the movie was extremely popular. In fact these songs remain popular to this day.

“Aapke Deewaane” (1980) is a movie that had some nice songs in it. This is one of the few movies I recall where Rafi and Kishore Kumar sang together. It was perhaps for the last time that the two sang together, since Rafi died shortly thereafter.

I had neither heard the name of the movie nor this song, but this song appears a good one to listen to. Its song were so wonderful to listen to that I as a pre teen kid dearly wanted to watch the movie. One fine day, I dragged my elders to the movie hall to watch this movie. And what did I see ? The movie was withdrawn the previous day, and the movie “Zindagi Zindagi” (1972) was being shown instead.

There are several songs that play at the very beginning of the movie as the credits begin rolling in on screen. I have not yet had a category for them, but I think I should call such songs as movie opening songs. They open the movie like how opening batsmen open an innings in a cricket match.

C grade Bollywood movies on 1950s and 1960s failed to get registered in the minds of mainstream audience, but these movies certainly had some audience and they must have been making enough money to stay in business.
