———————————————————————
In this post I am presenting a ‘Qawwalee’ song which is one of my ‘favorite genres’ of songs. So when browsing HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970) I noted that there is a ‘Qawwalee’ in the list of songs from this movie ‘Badmaash-1969’, I immediately checked for its link and it was already available on internet. This movie ‘Badmaash-1969’ made its debut on the blog on 23.05.2018 when our respected Shri Sudhir jee presented its song ‘uthhaa palkein milaa nazren’ on the blog. This movie was then a ‘missing movie’ for the blog.

Today’s song is from the social film Minister-1959.
The 1950s and the early 60s was the period in which the Hindi film industry churned out films which tried to glorify the impractical approaches to real problems, under the guise of Indian traditions. This was in line with what Nehru espoused as Socialism. Unfortunately, it took the Indian public farther from reality and instead of advancing, we went back another two decades.
