“Sambandh” (1969) was a movie based on a Bangla novel. This movie had Pradeep Kumar,Deb Mukherji,Anjana Manjrekar (later Anjana Mumtaz),Sulochana etc in it. The movie was produced by Shashdhar Mukherji to launch the acting career of his son Deb Mukherji, just as he had helped launch the career of his eldest son Joy Mukherji one decade back with a home production movie, viz ‘Love in Shimla” (1960).

Songs and dances play a very important role in Hindi movies. In olden days, lead actors were needed to sing and dance. Once playback singing began, actors were thankfully no longer required to sing their own songs, but they were still required to dance. That is especially true for actresses and proficiency in dancing was an important skill for them.

Here is a lesser known song from a lesser known movie. At least this movie and this song is lesser known to me, and that is the reason why no songs from this movie were posted in this blog till now.

From the song, it is often possible to guess the music director. But not always. there have been cases where a song, sounding like O P Nayyar’s song may turn out to be Madan Mohan’s.

I have no idea if chana jor, moongphali etc are still sold today on street by vendors. Personally I have not seen such vendors for the past few decades, so chances are, such vendors are on the verge of extinction, if not already extinct.

“Ham Sab Chor Hain” (1956) was a light hearted movie which was written and directed by I S Johar. This movie had some interesting comedy songs in it that are nice to listen to.
