It is normal for people to express concern about “Bhrastaachaar” (corruption) in our society and country and it is also normal to believe that the society and country will be a better place if corruption is weeded out.
But what about the other point of view ? Suppose that corruption goes away and the society and the country turns over a new leaf overnight. Will we then have a nation of our dream ? Not quite. Absence of the deep rooted systems that are in existence in our lives will lead to utter chaos. 🙂 At least that is what this satirical song suggests. 🙂

Today is 31 december 2014, which is the last day of the year. I have no idea if people are on a reflective/ introspective mood on this day or not. Newspapers certainly seem to look back on the year and they tell us about the major events of the year. I have also noticed that people tend to look at the departing year as a forgettable year and hope that the new year would be better, only to express similar sentiments about that year when that year too draws to a close.

I am sure other friends and listeners who lived by the music broadcast on the radio, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, would surely remember this fabulous Bhojpuri song.
