“Paaras” (1949) is a movie that starred Rehman, Kamini Kaushal and a very young Madhubala. Today this movie is not remembered much but I find that the songs of this movie are quite delightful.

Here is a song that falls in the later category, viz this song is best enjoyed as a stand alone song. Two female singers dancing in tandem was a staple diet of B grade historical/ mythological movies of 1960s. But here we find the same thing happening in a Muslim social movie. The movie is “Mere Mehboob” (1963) and here Sadhana and Ameeta are found dancing and singing joyously. They sing in the voices of Lata and Asha Bhonsle respectively.
