And so, we do get to a song in Saigal Sb’s voice song in this series. Memory serving right, I would have preferred to start the series with this song. But oh well. Actually, we do have a Saigal Sb song earlier in this series. But that song – “Babul Mora, Naihar Chhooto Hi Jaaye”, is rerecorded in Jagjit Singh Chitra Singh voices.
Remembering the memorable singer KL Saigal Sb – it is 73 years today, since this Divine Voice departed from this mortal world. The singer has gone away, his voice, the sound captured in the songs recorded by him, are still alive.

In the 1940s, Lala Jagat Narayan of Jagat Talkies Distribution was one of the biggest controller of the chains of theatres and film distributions network in Northern India having his office at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. He was regarded as an undisputed king of film distribution and exhibition. Today (14 november 2016) is the death anniversary of yesteryear leading lady and character actor, Veena.
I must admit that I got to know Veena’s name less than 10 years ago. It was probably due to memsaab’s blog. In fact, that blog has made me aware of many personalities that I had seen for years on screen without knowing their names.

C.Ramchandra used to respect Anil Biswas very much and Anil Biswas knew that he was a talented composer, who would carry forward the use of western instruments started by Anil ji in HFM. Anil ji liked his style of singing and used to call him to sing in his films,whenever there was an opportunity.
