Today (9 november 2014) is the 61st death anniversary of Ghulam Haider (1908-9 november 1953). He died at a young age of 45, but by that time he had does so much in his chosen field that his name will remain immortal in the annals of HFM.

While many talented and well established composers, singers and Directors migrated to Pakistan, many producers and experienced film makers returned to India. Thus while the new born Pakistan got a solid help to build their own separate film industry-with ready made artistes from India, the Indian film industry was further strengthened with the arrival of film makers like the Sippys, Chopras, the Shoreys and the Pancholis from Lahore.
