Huzoorewaala jo ho izaajat

on:This song is a typically O P Nayyar tune as far as the use of the musical nstruments are concerned. This movie “Ye Raat Phir Na Aayegi” came in 1966 when O P Nayyar was on the decline.
But just listen to the music. The music is just stunning. When one listens to the music alongwith the picturisation, the effect is nothing short of magical at least as far as I am concerned. The music of this song just leaves me gasping with admiration.
1966 was the year when O P Nayyar’s brand of music was “ageing” and R D Burman’s brand of music was being introduced to the public. Now, with both these brands of music passing into history, I find that the O P Nayyar brand of music is like old wine, which has got better with age. Of course, I like R D Burman’s music as well ( I consider R D Burman the O P Nayyar of 1970s in fact).
The song is sung nicely by Asha Bhonsle and Minu Purushottam. The picturisation shows two ladies ( one is Helen, the other is Madhumati- her clone) fighting with each other over a man holding a guitar who is Manohar Deepak. The Hero (Vishwajeet) and heroine (Mumtaz) take the backseat and they are the bystanders in this song. Manohar Deepak was real life husband of Madhumati. 🙂
It is an extremely wonderful dance song, which I simply love to listen to.

Song-Huzoorewaala jo ho Izaajat(Ye raat phir naa aayegi) (1966) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Aziz Kashmiri, MD-O P Nayyar
Lyrics
aaa aaa aaa
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat
to ham ye saare jahaan se kahden
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat
to ham ye saare jahaan se kahden
tumhaari adaaon pe marte hain ham
ye kisne kaha hai ke darte hain ham
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat
to ham ye saare jahaan se kahden
Huzoorewaala
kyun na kahden muhabbat Khuda hai
ye haqeeqat nahin hai to kya hai
kyun na kahden muhabbat Khuda hai
ye haqeeqat nahin hai to kya hai
o dil waale daaon lagaale
kar diya dil ko tere hawaale
bada lutf chup chup ke jalne me hai
maza teer khaa kar sambhalne me hai
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat
to ham ye saare jahaan se kahden
Hazoorewaala
dekhiye to zara muskuraake
kaun baitha hai pahloo me aake
dekhiyo to zara muskuraake
kaun baitha hai pahloo me aake
o dilwaale daaon laale
kar diya dil ko tere hawaale
ye neechi nigahen ghazab kar gayin
pata na chalia zulm kab kar gayin
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat
to ham ye saare jahaan se kahden
tumhaari adaaon pe marte hain ham
ye kisne kaha hai ke darte hain ham
Huzoorewaala
jo ho izaajat

The song drives me back down the memory lane by 47 years when I , during my college days, had watched this movie in Amrish Talkies, Srinagar, J&K ( unfortunately now there is not a single movie theatre functional in whole of the Kashmir valley due to terrorist threats) and I still remember its enthralling songs and pictorial sequences. Incidentally, this song is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Minu Purshottam and picturised on Helen and Madhumati.

This is in continuation of my post of date. I would also to point out that in the lyrics and header of this song, the word “izaajat” may be replaced by “ijaazat”.
