Guru Dutt and Meena Kumari were two individuals who started their careers playing lighthearted sunny characters but then they began to play tragic roles. They got so immersed in such roles that their real lives too became an extension of their reel life tragedy roles.

I have heard this song several times in the past and I thought it must be a song from 1950s. But it turns out to be a song of 1961 and it is from “Shola Aur Shabnam”.

Ek roz hamaari bhi daal galegi

When I look at the star cast of “Bandi” (1957), I notice that it had all the Ganguly brothers viz Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar in it and the three leading ladies in this movies were Bina Rai, Shyama and Nanda. That way this movie must have been like “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi”. I wonder what happened to “Bandi” at the box office. With this kind of star cast, the movie certainly promised so much.

Dil ka dard niraalaa

“Kaise Kahoon” (1964) was a movie starring Vishwajeet and Nanda. I had not heard about this movie in the past. It is only now that I have been discovering that this movie had some nice songs in it.

Kishore Kumar as hero and Pran as villain was a recipe for great fun throughout the movie. And “Jaalsaaz” (1959) was one such movie.
