Aur kuchh der thahar aur kuchh der na jaa

Rajesh Khanna made his debut in “Aakhri Khat” (1966). This was a black and white movie, and this movie could well be described as a classic. This must be one of the few movies that could be called a movie with an original and different plot. At least I hope that this movie is an original and not inspired by some other movie.
I have posted a couple of songs from this movie. Here is another song from this movie, which has been described as a sensuous song par excellence. The song is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Indrani Mukherji. This is a “roop tera mastaana pyaar mera deewana” genre of song, with similar outcome, if you know what I mean. 😉 It is just that the “Aradhana” song came a few years late and that had Sharmila Tagore instead of Indrani Mukherji.
This song has a sad version as well.
Here, Kaifi Azmi is the lyricist and Khayyam composed the music.

Great Song. The magic of black and white is all present. Just see how a light and shade can be effectively used in black and white movie. And about the song- just superb

This movie has at least 3 good songs. This is my favorite but its partly due to the picturization. I didn’t see the similarity to Roop tera mastana except perhaps for the situation and outcome. But I haven’t seen Aakhri Khat.
Unrelated to the song, Indrani Mukherjee is so short she makes short Rajesh look tall.
