There was a movie called “Zindagi Ya Toofaan” (1958), not to be confused with “Zindagi Aur Toofaan” (1975). This movie “Zindagi Ya Toofaan” (1957) had Pradeep Kumar and Nutan in lead roles.

I maintain that some of the most memorable O P Nayyar compositions have been picturised not on regular heroes, but on a comedian,viz Johny Walker. In some of these movies, Johny Walker in fact played the hero as well.

“Vidyapati” (1937) was producd by Calcutta’s New Theatre. This movie starred Pahadi Sanyal, Prithviraj Kapoor,Kanan Devi,K C Dey, K N Singh, Kidar Sharma, Nemo, Chhaaya Devi, Leela Desai etc.

Plagiarism is quite rampant in Hindi movies. Lifting scenes and even entire storylines without proper acknowledgement is nothing new. But in most cases such Hindi movies get away scotfree.
