Ham tumhen chaahte hain aise

During 1970s, Amitabh Bachchan had taken over the crown of the number one male actor of the decade. The one actor, who looked like a challenger was Vinod Khanna, but Vinod Khanna’s mind was not into his career. He became a devotee of Achaarya Rajneesh (that is how he was then known, before he began to call himself “Osho”). As a result, he ended up nowhere. He neither got the spiritual nirvaana from his spiritual guru nor could he devote himself whole heartedly to his movie career. If he could only devote himself whole heartedly to his movie career, he could have been number one, at least briefly, and who knows, may be for even longer durations.
One of the big hits of Vinod Khanna’s career at that time was “Qurbaani” (1980).
“Qurbaani” (1980) is also known for its music. This movie had a fluke hit which I have not posted so far and I do not intend to post that either if I could help it. Apart from that, the movie had songs that became popular.
Here is a song from this movie which is picturised on Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman and other. It is a “beach” song as well as a son that can be described as a “proposal” song. This song is sung by Anand Kumar and Manhar Udhas. Indeewar is the lyricist and Kalyanji Anandji composed the music.
Today 6th october is Vinod Khanna’s birthday. So here is this song, on the occasion of Vinod Khanna’s birthday who was born on this day in 1946.
