“Ghar” (1978) was the story of the ordinary life of an ordinary couple, which was a refreshing change from the larger than life stories depicted in most mainstream movies.
This movie is a significant movie in Rekha’s career. She received a total makeover in this movie. Beginning with these movie, she got transformed from an ugly duckling not serious about her career to a mature an professional woman conscious about her appearance and her career.
The songs of this movie were masterpieces. Gulzar and R D Burman’s collaboration gave us some well loved songs in this movie.
I, in fact thought that I had already posted the song under discussion. It turns out that I was confusing this song with another song which also begins with the same letter “Aa”. I had posted the song Aaj kal paaon zameen par nahin padte mere(Ghar)(1978) and this song under discussion is “Aapki aankhon mein kuchh mahke huye se raaz hain”.
Better late than never. My readers have not only pointed out that this song is missing from the blog, they have also reminded me that 10th october is Rekha’s birthday, so it is an good opportunity for me to post all these pending farmaishes pertaining to Rekha’s movies.
So here is this wonderful song from “Ghar” (1978) which is sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata. The song is picturised on Vinod Mehra and Rekha. Gulzar’s lyrics and R D Burman’s music are both out of this world.
This song is a gem, like every other song from this movie. One can listen to this sing many a times without feeling bored.
This song also marks a nice little milestone for this blog.This song is Kishore Kumar’s 400th song in this blog.
