I keep repeating ad nauseum in these pages that there are many great gems lying forgotten out there as far as Hindi movie songs are concerned. I keep discovering such songs almost on a daily basis.
Here is one such song. This song is from a forgotten movie called “Hill Station” (1957). This song is a duet sung by Lata and Hemant Kumar. Only the audio is available, but from the star cast of this movie, I guess that the song was picturised on Shyama and Pradeep Kumar.
PS-It has been pointed out that this song has a Lata solo version as well. That way this is a multiple version song.
S H Bihari is the lyricist of this song. Hemant Kumar himself is the music director as well.

The main actress in the film was Bina Rai (see the picture above). My guess is that the duet involved Pradeep Kumar and Bina Rai while the solo was picturised on Bina Rai.

Oh, this song wasn’t here already? I have it on my CD, and it is such a nice song that I am surprised to see it only now. It bears the unmistakable stamp of Hemant Kumar’s music – reminds me of a river flowing smoothly, with tree lined banks and the two young lovers, moving softly, no matching aerobics being performed!
