Chaand sitaare karte ishaare

Posted on: June 7, 2011

“Adl e Jahaangir” (1955) was the first movie directed by G P Sippy of “Sholay” (1975) fame. this movie had Pradeep Kumar and Meena Kumari in lead roles.

I have already discussed two songs from this movie. Here is another song from this movie.

This song is a romantic duet sung by Lata and Talat Mehmood. it is picturised on the lead duo of Pradeep Kumar and Meena Kumari. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.

aao milaa len ham tum nigaahen
tum hamen chaaho
ham tumhen chaahen
aao milaa len ham tum nigaahen
tum hamen chaaho
ham tumhen chaahen
ham tumhen chaahen
pyaar bharaa dil tumko pukaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare
chaand sitaare karte ishaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare

aankhon mein masti ye husn pyaaraa
dekhaa hai jab se jalwaa tumhaaraa
aankhon mein masti ye husn pyaaraa
dekhaa hai jab se jalwaa tumhaaraa
jalwaa tumhaaraa
sharmaa rahen hain rangeen nazaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare
chaand sitaare karte ishaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare

yoon hi muskuraaye hamaari wafaayen
rah rah ke aayen lab par duaayen
yoon hi muskuraaye hamaari wafaayen
rah rah ke aayen lab par duaayen
lab par duaayen
kabhi na judaa hon muhabbat ke maare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare
chaand sitaare karte ishaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare
chaand sitaare karte ishaare
ham hain tumhaare
tum ho hamaare

Atul Ji, there is also a solo version of this song by Talat with just a girl humming along with him.

Sorry Atul Ji, looks like I was mistaken, I heard both youtube clips, and in both, Lata just hums the tune. Would that be considered as a duet or a solo number? So, looks like there is just one version of this song.
