Being able to stand for one’s rights and getting it too is a tight rope walk that few people may have perfected. “Cha Cha Cha” (1964) is Bhavdeep Films production. It was produced and Directed by Chandrashekhar. He was also the hero of this movie. He had signed up Helen to play the heroine opposite him. So this movie was one of the rare occasions when Helen was not a one song wonder but got to sing lots of songs and got to act in a Bhartiya Naari kind of role.

The saga of Saigal Saab is known based on the memories that have been treasured by his family members, friends and associates. There is very little written documentary record of his life available, in terms of journals, letters or interviews. His departure at a young age of 43 years, did not allow an opportunity that many famous persona have, of writing or authorizing a biography, as they reach into the later decades of their lives. Very little, if any, is available in terms of written articles etc. from the 15 years (1931-1946) that he was in the limelight for the entire nation. His music, and the collection of anecdotal memories, is the legacy remaining, with which to know and fathom this extraordinary performer.

“Daak Bangla” (1947) is a movie produced by an official sounding Production house namely Indian National Pictures Limited. 😀
The movie was directed by M Sadiq and it had actors like Wasti , Suraiyya,Gope,Rampyaari,M Ismail etc. Kamal Kapoor who later went on to have a long career as a baddie in Hindi movies, made his debut in this movie.
