“Rooplekha”(1949) was a movie in which Sajjad Hussain composed three songs and then left the movie, perhaps because of differences with the makers of the movie. Remaining songs were composed by other composers, viz Nisaar Bazmi and Khan Mastana.
I have discussed two songs of “Rooplekha” (1949) which were composed by Sajjad Hussain. Here is the third Sajjad Hussain composition from this movie.
This song is a duet which is sung by Rafi and Surinder Kaur. The song is written by Khumar Barabankwi.
I have not been able to get the lyrics of the song absolutely right and there are a few missing/ incorrect words in the lyrics. I request readers with keener ears to help point out the missing/ incorrect words in the lyrics, so that I may be able to correct them.
Song-Tum ho jaao hamaare ham ho jaayen tumhaare (Rooplekha)(1949) Singer-Rafi, Surinder Kaur, Lyrics-Khumar Barabankwi, MD-Sajjad Hussain
Lyrics
Tum ho jaao hamaare
ham ho jaayen tumhaare
mite dil ke gham saare
din aayen pyaare pyaare kabhi chaandni raaton mein
kabhi tum ho baanhon mein
kabhi nadi ke kinaare
beete yoon hi din hamaare
kabhi chaandni raaton mein
kabhi tum ho baanhon mein
kabhi nadi ke kinaare
beete yoon hi din hamaare
tum ho jaao hamaare
ham ho jaayen tumhaare
mite dil ke gham saare
din aayen pyaare pyaare
ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho
chupke chupke
mohabbat ki do baate karen pyaari
baate kare pyaari
ham tum hon aur
saawan ki ho raate kaali kaali
raate kaali kaali
chupke chupke
mohabbat ki do baate karen pyaari
baate kare pyaari
ham tum hon aur
saawan ki ho raate kaali kaali
mil ke dhadke dil hamaare
qismat hans hans ke pukaare tum ho jaao hamaare
ham ho jaayen tumhaare
mite mite gham saare
din aayen pyaare pyaare
duniya agar sataaye
dekho badal na jaana
jab tak ye saans aaye
ulfat yoon hi nibhaana
kismat kare jafaayen
dhaaye sitam zamaana
phir bhi nahin hai mumkin
dil se tumhe bhulaana
hain armaan yahi dil ke
kabhi bichhde na ham milke
jiyen tere hi sahaare
maren tere hi duware
hain armaan yahi dil ke
kabhi bichhde na ham milke
jiyen tere hi sahaare
maren tere hi duware tum ho jaao hamaare
ham ho jaayen tumhaare
mite dil ke gham saare
din aayen pyaare pyaare
Atulji,
Could catch the second line of missing line it goes “Maren tere hi duware”(dware – meaning door. Just to fit into the tune it says duware). Will try to catch the other line.
