Lyrics(Provided by Sadanand Kamath)
ae sabaa
unse keh zaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
ae sabaa unse kah zaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
dil hamaara
jaan se pyaaraa
jaao ji
tum pe ye nisaar kar diyaa aa
dil hamaara
jaan se pyaaraa
jaao ji tum pe ye nishaar kar diyaa
ae sabaa
unse kah jaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
zindagi tum nahin to zindagi nahin
chandni tum nahin to chandni nahin
zindagi tum nahin to zindagi nahin
chandni tum nahin to chandni nahin
sab nazaare
ye pukaare
tumne hi bahaar ko bahaar kar diyaa
ae sabaa
unse kah zaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
keh zaraa sanam
hamko tumse pyaar hai
keh diyaa sanam
hamko tumse pyaar hai
keh zaraa sanam
dil se dil nisaar hai
keh diyaa sanam
dil se dil nisaar hai
paas aa ke
muskaraa ke
tumne dil par
nazar kaa waar kar diyaa
ae sabaa unse keh zaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
dil hamaara jaan se pyaara
jaao ji
tum pe ye nikhar kar diyaa
ae sabaa unse keh zaraa
kyun hamen beqaraar kar diyaa
ae sabaa

The Tamil film came later, in 1956. It did not have a single original tune, but retained all the Hindi tunes. I think no one got credit as Music Director in the Tamil version. The titles said: ” Orchestration: S.DaKshinamurthy.” [It can be checked on You tube.]
The Tamil lyrics were written by Marudhakasi. While the Hindi tunes were retained, the orchestration in the Tamil version has a tinny quality, though the song itself is rendered well by A.M.Rajah and Bhanumathi. It is however my personal feeling that the Hindi version is more melodious.

I think there is a song in a tamil movie which has the exact same tune. Not sure which song or movie though.
