Do nainon mein aansoo bhare hain

Posted on: December 15, 2012

“Khushboo” (1975) was based on a Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay story called “Pandit moshai”. This movie was produced under the banner of Tirupati Pictures Combine. Prasann Kapoor was the producer and Gulzar directed the movie. The movie had Jeetendra, Hemamalini, Master Raju Shrestha, Farida Jalal, Leela Mishra, Durga Khote, Sarika, Asrani, Chandrima Bhadhuri, Harish Magan, Sharmila Tagore in a special appearance, Pratimadevi, Devkishen, Sudhir Thakkar, Nasir, Bhola, Om Shivpuri etc in it.

Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song has two versions. The faster version is apparently available only in audio. Video of slower version of the song is available and it is picturised on Hema Malini, with Jeetendra and Master Raju also visible.

The song is sung by Lata. Gulzar is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

Prakashchandra, who sent me the lyrics of this song feels that all the songs of this movie are now covered. I request our other knowledgeable readers to help confirm/ refute this fact, so that we may be know for certaian if all the songs of this movie have been covered.

Audio – Faster version

Video – Slower version

do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
nindiyaa kaise samaaye
nindiya
do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
nindiyaa kaise samaaye

doobi doobi aankhon mein
sapnon ke saaye
raat bhar apne hain
din mein paraaye
doobi doobi aankhon mein
sapnon ke saaye
raat bhar apne hain
din mein paraaye
kaise nainon mein nindiyaa samaaye
do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
nindiyaa kaise samaaye
nindiyaa
do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
nindiyaa kaise samaaye

jhoote tere vaadon pe baras bitaaye
zindagi to kaati ye raat kat jaaye
jhoote tere vaadon pe baras bitaaye
zindagi to kaati ye raat kat jaaye
kaise nainon mein nindiyaa samaaye
do nainon mein
aansoo bhare hain
nindiyaa kaise samaaye

Faster one must be a version song and not official, especially if its available on Khurram’s channel.

No way any body can manipulate the repetition of lines in stanza. Besides, the song is well known. I might not have heard the slower version, but the faster version is known one via radio.

When did i suggest manipulation? 🙂 As far as i know, I havent seen 2 versions of this song on the vinyl LP.

Khyati Ji, I think it is time too, but let us wait for Arun Ji to confirm. By the way, you know who gets to say Yippeeee! this time around ;).

So sweet of you Pradeepji! Lekin mein Yippeee…. likh ke aap ke itne saare chaahakon ki naarazgi lene ka khatra nahin le sakti. Woh pitaayi vitaayi waali baat yaad hai na.
Like I have said in past, it’s not about covering all songs of a movie. Now it’s just reading your Yippeeee moment. 🙂
