Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 102

Ten years back on this date viz on 1st October 2012, eight songs from eight different movies were covered on the blog. Here are the details:-

One can observe that six movies (out of eight movies) whose songs were covered on the blog on this date ten years ago (on 1 october 2012) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with two movies that are still eligible for blog Ten Year Challenge ten years later on 1 october 2022.
“Mere Armaan Mere Sapne”(1963) is a movie that qualifies on this count.
“Mere Armaan Mere Sapne”(1963) was produced and directed by Arabind Sen for Lalit Kala Mandir, Bombay. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Kumari Naaz, Ashim Kumar, Pran, Agha, Jayshri Gadkar, Sumitra devi, Manmohan Krishna, Asit Sen, Badri Prasad, Johnny Whisky, Padma Devi, Paro devi, Samar Chatterjee, Paul Mahendra,
Madhumati, Surekha, Sohanlal Khanna, Laxmi Chhaaya, Abhi Bhattacharya, Sujit Kumar etc in it.
The movie had seven songs in it. Four songs have been covered in the blog so far.
Here is the fifth song from “Mere Armaan Mere Sapne”(1963) to appear in the blog. The son is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by N Datta.
The song is picturised as a dance song on Madhumati and Sohanlal Khanna. The dance performance is being watched by many people, inclusing Pradeep Kumar, Ashim Kumar and Kumari Naaz aka Naaz.
Sohanlal Khanna, who lip syncs in Rafi’s voice was the dance choreographer of this movie.

I think in hindi film industry there is only one sohanlal as a dance director existed, he was Late Saroj Khan’s(dance director) first husband, the above dancer is the same sohanlal/sohanlal khanna/b.sohanlal, as per my knowledge goes….

Nice post. You have mentioned that this song is picturised on choreographer Sohan Lal Khanna and Madhumati. I just wanted to know whether Sohan Lal Khanna and choreographer B Sohan Lal of Guide (1965), Jewel Thief (1967), Bobby (1973) and Sadhana (1958) fame are same?
