#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Remembrance Day-Kavi Pradeep 11th December’2022)
—————————————
Today 11th December’2022 is the 24th ‘Remembrance Anniversary’ of Ramchandra Narayanji Dwivedi whom we know by his pen-name Kavi Pradeep. He was born on 6th February 1915 and passed away on 11th December’1998.
I have written on Kavi Pradeep earlier on this blog and also mentioned how his songs-those sung by him especially- have an everlasting impression on me since my childhood. Later on as I grow and started my music collection I had bought the audio cassettes of his songs. These consist of both, cassettes of songs sung by Kavi Pradeep and also songs penned by him. After coming into the contact with this blog I have been increasing my knowledge about him, his biographical information and his filmography as a ‘Lyricist’ and as a ‘Singer’. I hope to present his full filmography on the blog sometime in the future.
Today on the occasion of Kavi Pradeep’s ‘remembrance day’ as a tribute to him I am presenting a song from the ‘1977’ movie ‘Aaankh Ka Taaraa’. This movie is going to make its debut on the blog today.
“Aankh Ka Taaraa-1977” was directed by Shantilal Soni for ‘Naag Devta Films, Bombay’.
Shantilal Soni was also the producer of this movie.
It had Sachin, Bindiya, Om Shivpuri, Bindu, Ajit, Baby Pallavi, Dulari, Manisha, Nirupa Roy, Bharat Bhushan, Gajanan Jagirdar, Gufi, Mukri, Abhi Bhattacharya, Manhar Desai, Tun Tun, Preeti Ganguly, C.S. Dubey, Paintal, Baby Dimple Saigal and others.
Story of this movie was written by Shantilal Soni who was also the producer and director of this movie.
Screenplay and dialogues of this movie were written by Pandit Mukhram Sharma. Editing of this film was done by S.T. Koorani.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 01.09.1977.
This movie had seven songs written by Kavi Pradeep and music was composed by C. Arjun.
Usha Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi, and Kavi Pradeep had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Today’s song is sung by Kavi Pradeep himself.
I thought that we have run of the songs sung by Kavi Pradeep but still there are couple of songs other than the today’s song, sung by him and to be presented on the blog.
During preparation for this post I came across a song sung by him from the sixties too. But, for this post I want to stick to the seventies.
Following is the details of movies of 1971-1980 where Kavi Pradeep wrote the lyrics for movies and appeared as a Singer.

(The above list of movies is as mentioned in the book ‘Kavi Pradeep Ka Hindi Sahitya mein Avdaan’ by Dr. Dinesh Chandra Awasthi. It appears in alphabetical order of ‘Devnagari Script’. Also additional information is taken from ‘HFGK-Vol-V-1971-1980.).
(Note: -‘Krishna Sudaama-1979’ which had eight songs was re-certified in 1980 as ‘Krishan Bhakt Sudaama-1980’ with eleven songs. (Three additional songs were added to the eights songs of ‘Krishna Sudaama-1979’.).
Let us now listen to today’s song sung by Kavi Pradeep and lip-synced by Bharat Bhushan in the movie. He is seen with children who seem to be orphan and blind in the picturisation of this song.
Also seen in the picturisation of the song is baby Pallavi (Pallavi Joshi) who seem to be playing the childhood role of actor Sachin in this movie (my guess).
