Today 10th January’2023 is the eighty-third birthday of Singer K.J. Yesudas(born on 10th January’1940).
On this occasion we wish him a ‘very happy birthday’ and also wish him a healthy and peaceful life ahead.
Yesudas’s voice is one of the voices which bring back many memories for me and it is a part of the nostalgia of my growing years. There are so many of his songs which have become a part of our life. Listening to them time to time serves as a great source of solace as well as enjoyment.
I have already written a detailed post about his songs and the memory of those songs here on the blog earlier. So I am not going to repeat the same again here in today’s post.
Today on the occasion of his birthday I present a lesser heard song from the ‘seventies’. This is from the movie ‘Do Chehare-1977’.
“Do Chehare-1977” was directed by Kewal Mishra for ‘Ratan Productions’.
It was produced by Ratan Kumar.
It had Virendra (Debutant), Aruna Irani, Ramesh Deo, Padma Khanna, Ram Mohan, Durga Khote, Sundar, Shekhar Purohit, Feroz Irani, Minu Kwalin, Geeta Kaushal, Master Ravi, Master Maruti, Master Raju Mansingh, Shriram Shastri and Murad, and others.
Dharmendra had a special appearance in this movie, while Premnath, Bindu and Mahipal had a friendly appearance in this movie.
Ratan Kumar who is the producer of this movie also wrote the story and scenario of this movie. Screenplay of this movie was written by Jaggi Rampal and also co-authored by Ratan Kumar. Jaggi Rampal also wrote the dialogues of this movie. Editing of this film was done by Shivaji Awadhut.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 20.09.1977.
This movie has six songs all of them written by Bharat Vyas. Music of this movie was composed by Sonik-Omi.
Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, Manna Dey, Usha Mangeshkar, Minu Purushottam, Hemlata and Yesudas had given their voices to the songs of this movie.
We will soon be visiting another song from this movie, so I am not giving here the list of songs from this movie today.
Now we will come back to today’s beautiful song sung by Yesudas. On the screen it is Mahipal lip-syncing the song shown in the backdrop of two lovers Aruna Irani and Virendra romancing around beautiful locations.
Also seen in the picturisation of this song are some child artists with Mahipal singing around and Durga Khote and Ramesh Deo in a scene indoors.
Let us wish Yesudas a very happy birthday once again and listen to this song in his divine voice…
