On this date ten years back viz on 22 January 2013, six songs from six movies were covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

We observe that two movies (out of six movies) whose songs were covered ten years ago on this date (viz 22 January 2013) have since been YIPPEED. That leaves us with four movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (22 January 2023).
Three of the four movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year challenge have already been taken up today and their songs covered in the blog.
The final BTYC eligible movie of the day is “Double Cross”(1973). The movie was produced by Yash Kohli and directed by Gogi Anand for Pasupti Pictures Private Limited, Bombay. The movie had Vijay Anand, Rekha and Asha Sachdev in lead roles. The movie also had Devkumar, Madan Puri, Rajeeta Thakur, Kuljeet, Sulochana(Ruby), Mohan Choti, Sunder, Indra(Indira) Bansal, Capt.Manmohan, Polson, V.Gopal, Birbal, Raj Kishore, Habib, Mama, Ramesh, Lala Nazir, Jullien, Sammi, Shanti, D.Kumar, Dhanna, Baby Nalina, Sujata, Ratna, Zarina, Marie, Pushpa Varma, Parvati Shirodkar etc in it. David and Manmohan had made guest appearances.
Today is the 89th birth anniversary of Vijay Anand (22 January 1934-23 February 2004). He not only acted as hero in this movie, he was also involved in the movieas screenplay writer, Dialogue writing and Editing !
The song under discussion is a highly appropriate song for the occasion. The dialogues that precede the song has Vijay Anand breaking this news to Rekha that it was his birthday today. And then the duo break into this song in celebration. 🙂
Here is this song. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.
It is a song that I am listening for the first time, some 50 years after this song was created. It sounds as fresh and lively as it must have sounder 50 years ago. That is what is called timeless music.
