This blog has just reached the milestone of 17500 songs!!!
More than looking back, it’s also time for looking forward and taking a fresh guard …
After reaching the round figures of the milestones, for me, the next step or next post in the case of this blog is always an exciting and thrilling occasion. After all it sets the tone for the next milestone… the next target…
For me, this is like starting from the scratch always … a new beginning … a new start … journey afresh …
For this post I was particularly looking for a song which was philosophical as well as of ‘cheerful mood’.
I checked for the songs already lying ready with us which also has many ‘rail’ songs but they did not fit this occasion.
Finally I decided to go with this wonder Pancham composition which has that music and the words taking you into the ‘world of your dreams’. Words and music that take you far away …. ( I had marked many such Pancham compositions for another topic of such special Pancham songs … but then that will be coming in other post/s 🙂 ).
Let us now come back to the movie of today’s song … It is from the ‘1977’ movie ‘Jeewan Mukt’.
‘Jeewan Mukt-1977’ was directed by Sudhendu Roy for S.R. Productions, Bombay.
It had Lakshmi, Parikshit Sahni, Girish Karnad, Mala Jaggi, Sudha Shivpuri, Pawan Dutt, Meena Rai, Master Gautam, Ashok Razdan, Dhanna, Asha Lata, Suresh Oberoi, Dinshaw Dazi, Shrimati Mistri and others.
As per HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) this movie had total four songs, all solo songs sung by Asha Bhonsle.
Lyricist Yogesh wrote the songs for this movie and music was composed by R.D. Burman.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 08.08.1977.
(Note- I had come across a song sung by Kishore Kumar and it is uploaded as an ‘unreleased song from this movie- ‘Jeewan Mukt’, which needs to be checked and confirmed. HFGK doesn’t mention about this song).
Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is lip synced on screen by Lakshmi. A child, Master Gautam (I guess), is also visible in the picturisation.
The song is picturised on a beautiful outdoor location/s.
This song is the second song from this lesser known movie ‘Jeewan Mukt’.
Let us enjoy this lesser known song….
And let us set out on the journey looking forward to reach 20K 🙂 as early as possible !!!
