#the Decade of Seventies – 1981 – 1990 #
————————————————————————
Today 30th March’2023 is the twenty-first ‘Remembrance Anniversary’ of one of the most popular and prolific lyricist of Hindi Film Industry Anand Bakshi.
He was born on 21st July’1930 and he passed away on 30th March’2002.
As a tribute to him, today I am presenting a song written by Anand Bakshi from the movie ‘Krodhi-1981’.
‘Krodhi-1981’ was directed by Subhash Ghai for ‘Ranjit Films’. It was produced by Ranjit Virk.
It had Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini, Sachin, Ranjeet, Premnath and Pran with Moushumi Chatterjee, Amrish Puri, Bharat Bhushan, Krishan Dhawan, A.K. Hangal, Sulochana Latkar, Iftekhar, Sudhir Dalvi, Jagdish Raj, Sudhir, Mac Mohan, Raj Mehra, Sajjan, Surendra Pal, Asit Sen, and P. Jairaj, Birbal, Brahmachari, Raju Shreshtha, C.S. Dubey, D.K. Sapru, Vimi and others.
Story of ‘Krodhi-1981’ was written by Subhash Ghai, while the screenplay for the movie was written by Nabendu Ghosh. Editing of this movie was done by the famous pair Gurudutt Shirali and Waman Bhonsle.
“Krodhi-1981” has five songs which were written by Anand Bakshi and music for this movie was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Two songs from this movie have already been posted on the blog.
Today we present the third song from this movie which is sung by Manna Dey. Pran lip-syncs this song on screen which is a wonderful ‘bhajan’ or ‘devotional song’. We can also see Dharmendra, Sapru, Krishan Dhawan and many others in the picturisation of this song. This ‘bhajan’ is a ‘Raam bhajan’.
Incidentally today ‘Ram Navami’ is being celebrated in our country and on this occasion this song also serves as a purpose to offer our prayers to Lord Ram.
Let us listen to this soothing Ram bhajan.
With this song, we reach 100 song post mark in the blog in the month of March 2023.

Thank you Avinashji for this song/ bhajan.
I had forgotten this song. Though I recall seeing the film on Television almost a century ago🙂.
The location of this song seems to be the temples of Belur or Halebeedu in Karnataka. I am having this feeling because of the platform on whixh the temple is standing. Also the pillars inside the temple are a shiny black, typical of the temples in Belu & Halebeedu.
I am sure Atulites from Karnataka will be able to confirm if I am right or wrong
