Few months back when I was travelling to my work place I got to listen to a program on a famous Radio FM channel. In This program, the anchor talks about the some special ‘characters’ from movies and the actors performing these characters, and the impact such characters have on the audience. That day this program talked about two special characters i.e. ‘Mogambo’ of ‘Mr. India-1987’ and ‘Jaykant Shikre’ of ‘Singham-2011’.

So this year 2023 has seen two centuries, both clocked in 28 days apiece. It is a vast improvement over the average days taken for the blog centuries of last few years. Today’s song is from a stunt film – Bahadur-1944. This was one of those ordinary films made by Jagriti Pictures, Bombay, owned by Master Bhagwan. The film was also directed by Bhagwan and the film’s music was provided by his friend C.Ramchandra with an alias Ram Chitalkar. The Lyricist was Ehsan Rizvi and the cast of the films was Baburao Pehelwan, Bhagwan, Shanta Patel, Samson, Bhagwandas, yeshwant, Bibi, Surekha and Nirasha (what a name ! Her parents must have expected a Boy baby and she was born, hence she must have been named as Nirasha. My intelligent guess !).

Today’s song is a very melodious duet from the film Actor-1951.
The film was directed by Ramjibhai Arya. I could not get any information about him except that he directed 6 Hindi films namely, Hind ke lal-40, Manthan-41, Jungle ki pukar-46, Bhedi Dushman-46, Sher E Bengal-47 and his last film as a director, Actor-1951. The musical score for this film was by 2 MDs – Aziz Hindi aka Aziz Khan and Ibrahim aka Master Ibrahim. There are many films having 2 MDs or even 3 MDs and also an unique case like the film Pathan-1962 which had a record 9 MDs ! (This film has nothing to do with Shahrukh khan’s controversial film Pathan released recently). In almost all cases songs are separately credited to each MD, as it is a Team work. In rare cases we find that a few songs are composed jointly by both MDs and credited accordingly.
