Today’s song is from the ‘ imaginary ‘ film, which was a Costume C grade film – Son of Alibaba-1955.
So, here we are again talking about a Costume C grade film which has an ‘imaginary’ category in the HFGK. I selected this film song because among such other films, this film had much better and good songs, composed by Sardul Kwatra, the Music Director.

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Remembrance Day- Laxmichhaya)
——————————————-———————————————
Today 09th May’2023 is the ‘remembrance anniversary’ of yesteryears actress and dancer Laxmichhaya.
She was born on 07th January’1948 and she passed away on 09th May’2004.
She had acted in many movies, mainly in role of dancer or club dancer I guess. Though I am not going to list all her movies here, I would like to mention the movie ‘Mera Gaaon Mera Desh-1971’ in which I likde her role the most and it has been my favorite movie too.

Today’s cabaret video song is from the film ‘Jailor’ (1958).
The film from the stable of Minerva Movietone was a remake of its own film ‘Jailor’ made in 1938 with Sohrab Modi, Leela Chitnis, Sadiq Ali etc. The story, dialogues and song lyrics were by 2 persons – Kamaal Amrohi and Amir Hyder. The screenplay was by JK Nanda and music by Meer Sahib. The film was about a good person turning into a cruel and bad person due to personal troubles and again turning into a philanthropic good man, due to change of heart and regrets.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2013-2023) – Song No. 45
————————————————————————————–
On this date ten years back viz on 14 March 2013, nine songs from eight different movies (plus one Non Film song) were covered in the blog. Here are the details:-
| Blog post number | Song | Movie (Year) | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7672 | Ud jaa re ud jaa papeehe | Vishkanya(1943) | 7 songs covered out of 12 by now |
| 7673 | Nanha sa dil deti hoon | Chandan(1941) | one song covered out of 12 by now |
| 7674 | Kuchh keh na sake kuchh keh bhi gaye | Shahnaaz(1948) | 8 songs covered out of 12 by now |
| 7675 | Sur ki gati main kyaa jaanoon | Mukesh NFS(1950) | |
| 7676 | Ek matwaala aaj chala apni manzil ko | Aapki Parchhaiyaan (1964) | Movie YIPPEED by now |
| 7677 | Aaye re din saawan ke | Gaban (1966) | Movie YIPPEED by now |
| 7678 | Badla dilwaayegaa yaa rab | Alam Ara(1931) | Songs unavailable |
| 7679 | Kaho kahaan chalen | Bulandi(1980) | One song out of 6 covered by now |
| 7680 | Papa kehte hain bada naam karega | Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) | 3 songs covered out of 6 by now |
It can be seen that out of two movies (out of eight) whose songs were covered on this date ten years ago (on 14 March 21013) have since been YIPPEED. So technically six movies are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today. But in reality, songs of some of the movies are unavailable.

Today’s song is from the film Talash-1943. This is one of those films, about which hardly any information is available on the net or in any book. But thank God, at least credits for all the important departments like Banner, Director, MD, Lyricist and all the star cast names are available in HFGK.

Mention ‘Masti Bhara Hai Samaa’ – and there comes to mind an unforgettable sweet melody that will pull at the heart strings, no matter how many times you listen to it. Somehow, the duets that Manna Dey has sung with Lata ji or Suman Kalyanpur, under the baton of Dattaram, are melodies out of this world. Listen to “Ye Din, Din Hain Khushi Ke” from ‘Jab Se Tumhen Dekha Hai’ (1963), or “Na Jaane Khaan Tum The” from ‘Zindagi Aur Khwaab’ (1961), or “Boley Ye Dil Ka Ishaara” from ‘Santaan’ (1959), or “Pyaar Bhari Ye Ghataayen” from ‘Qaidi No. 911’ (1959), or “Bheegi Hawaaon Mein Teri Adaaon Mein” from ‘Shriman Satyawaadi’ (1960), or even the lesser heard “Mil Gaye Duniya Mein Jeene Ke Sahaare” from ‘Dark Street’ (1961) and “Yeh Nasheeli Hawa, Chha Raha Hai Nasha” from ‘Neeli Aankhen’ (1962).
Remembering Dattaram Wadker on the anniversary of his passing away today – 08 June, 2007. He was 78 when he passed away.

Missing Films of 1960s – 72
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Today’s film of the 1960s being introduced is ‘Badmaash’ from 1969. A very obscure and unfamiliar film, that is known only by its presence in the Geet Kosh. But I was surprised when I checked out the cast. This film belongs to the Sheikh Mukhtar genre. His films may not be blockbusters, but still they are known only because they are Sheikh Mukhtar films. Even so, this film is lesser known in comparison.
