I am not much familar with this movie called “Milaap” (1955). Apparently it was a suspense movie directed by Raj Khosla. The movie had Dev Anand, Geeta Bali, K N Singh, Tuntun,Johny Walker, Tuntun etc. The star cast is quite impressive, and this appears to be good movie to watch if one can get hold of it.

Here is a rare song from an obscure movie called “Lakeeren” (1954). This movie had Asok Kumar, Nalini Jaiwant, Pran, Cuckoo,Tiwari etc in it.

Baanki adaayen dekhnaa ji dekhnaa

I know of at least two movies called “Amaanat”. The earlier one was released in 1955 and it had Bharat Bhushan and Chand Usmani in lead roles. The later one was released sometime in 1970s and this movie had Manoj Kumar and Sadhana in lead roles.

Sakhi ri chitchor nahin aaye

I have posted one immortal bhajan from “Jogan” (Ghoonghat ke pat khol re )in this blog in the past. That song was a Meera Bhajan sung by Geeta Dutt (then Geeta Roy). This movie in fact has several fantastic songs sung by Geeta Dutt.

If one just goes through the lyrics of the song, this song may not appear to be much of a song. But just listen to this song. This song is sung so nicely that the song grows up on the listener and remains with him /her for several hours. That is what Lalitha felt about this song and mentioned while giving farmaish for this song. And when I listened to this song, I realised this fact myself.

Here is a superb sentimental song from “Do Bhai” (1947). This is one of the earliest songs sung by Geeta Dutt that went on to become her calling card (the other such song being Mera sundar sapna beet gaya from the same movie).
