Nowadays I am presenting saawan songs from Hindi films that were so far missing from the blog. In this process I am coming across surprises on a daily basis. I am discovering some great compositions.
Everybody has his/her own preferences in music. As for me, I mostly enjoy those creations that I had not listened to earlier.
While looking for songs thst I had never heard before, I got to listen to these songs and I noted them down to be used for my write-ups. That is how I got to listen to these songs, by specifically searching for them, something that most normal music lovers are not likely to do.

Today’s saawan song is from the movie ‘Krishna Leela-1946’. When I came across this song, I was surprised that it was still missing on this blog, because the singer of this song is none other than Kanan Devi.
‘Krishna Leela-1946’ was directed by Devki Bose for Geetanjali Pictures, Bombay. It had Kanan Devi, Paresh Bannerjee, Devi Mukherjee, Ranjeet Roy, Parvati, Suprabha, Kamal Mitra, Gokul Mukherjee, Tandon, Kapoor, Krushto Dhan and others.

In this post I am presenting a saawan song from a recent movie ‘Jhoothi Shaan-1991’. Though this movie is now thirty-five years old, by the standards of our blog we call it a recent movie. I have neither watched this movie earlier nor remember to have listened to any songs of this movie.
“Jhoothi Shaan-1991” (which I would have otherwise spelled as ‘Jhhoothhee Shaan’:) ) was directed by Ranjan Bose for Prime Movies. Ranjan Bose the director of this movie also wrote the story and screenplay of this movie. Askari Jafri and Sanjay Gulati were the producers for this movie. The cast of this movie has Mithun Chakravarty, Shabana Azmi, Poonam Dhillon, Nadira, Shakti Kapoor, Kanwaljeet, Jagdeep, Pallavi Joshi, Deven Verma, Huma Khan, Sudhir, Satyen Kappu, Ashalata, Manmauji, Tarun Ghosh, Kirti Kumar, Raj Tilak, Raj Kaul, Pratap, Ravi, Pappu, M. Joshi, Amol Sen and others. This movie was passed by the censor board on 13.12.1991.

(Lyricist Kavi Pradeep-31)
——————————-
Today is ‘World Friendship Day’!!! In our culture we have several legends and stories on friendship and the most popular and touching of them is the story of Krishn-Sudama from our mythology. We also have many Hindi Films made on the theme of friendship. We have many songs based on ‘dost’, ‘dostee’, ‘yaar’, ‘yaaree’ etc. etc.
Today’s song is dedicated to the friendship of Lord Krishn and his poor childhood friend Sudama. The song under discussion is penned by Kavi Pradeep. I have listened to it many times while preparing ths writeup. Every time Listening to this song has given me goose pimples every single time. It is a beautiful and touching song describing the visit of Sudama to the palace of his the childhood friend of Lord Krishn visits him in his palace. The two friends are meeting after a long time and as mentioned in the song this meeting is happening after the ‘Mahaabhaarat yuddh’.
