“Amar Keertan”(1954) was a “bhakti pradhan” movie which was directed by K C Pandit for Punjab Film Corporation, Bombay. The movie had Asha Mathur, Shahu Modak, Naaz, Jayant, Rajendra, Seeta Bose, S Prakash, Prem Kumar, Sitaram, Maya Das, Hira Sawant, Kumkum, Lallan, Bansari, Neerja, Chaand Burque etc , with guest appearances by Ameeta Devi, Kamal Mehra and Madan Puri.

If we replace the word ‘taaron’ with the word ‘gaanon’, it would be apt for this blog. Don’t we all freely wander in this cyber world of songs, lyrics and the stories behind them, as we browse the pages on Atul-Song-A-Day.
Coming to the song itself, this is one of the three Lata gems from ‘Mad Bhare Nain’ (1955). The other two are the romantic numbers “Aa Palkon Mein Aa” and the bhajan “Mo Se Saanchi Kaho Banwaari”.

“Samundar” (1957) was produced and directed by Premnath for P N Films production where P N surpise surprise ! stood for Premnath. 🙂 The movie was an all family affair. Premnath, Bina Rai (his wife), Rajendranath (his brother) figured in the movie.
