Today’s song is from an old film ‘Ek Hi Raasta’ (1939).
This film was made by Sagar Movietone and was directed by a young Mehboob Khan. This was his last film with Sagar, because after this Sagar was merged with National studios and later on it was closed down forever. This proves that generally, family enterprises where it is a one man show, be it films or politics, does not last long. If the enterprise does not adapt to changes or does not learn from its mistakes, its downfall is sure. Mehboob Khan grew big with Sagar. Mehboob was influenced by Nehru’s ideology and was his staunch supporter. It was a coincidence that Nehru died in the afternoon of 27th May 1964 and within 12 hours, Mehboob Khan too died in the early hours of 28th May 1964.

#the Decade of Fifties –1951 – 1960 #
——————————————————————
In this post we cover a song sung by Hemant Kumar from the movie ‘Kitnaa Badal Gayaa Insaan-1957’.
Two songs from this movie have been posted on the blog in the past.
As mentioned by Shri Atul ji in his post while launching this movie on the blog, the title of this movie seems to be inspired from the iconic song ‘dekh tere sansaar ki haalat’ from ‘Naastik-1954’. And the same leading pair of ‘Naastik-1954’ Nalini Jaywant and Ajit was cast in this movie ‘Kitnaa Badal Gayaa Insaan’ again. Both the movies were directed by I.S. Johar.

Hullo Atuldom
Unbelievable!!!! It is already one year. I don’t know if it is coincidence or the creator thought it was the best date to recall his beloved creation.
Basant Panchami, celebrated as Saraswathi Pooja in many parts of India, marks the preparation for the arrival of Spring. Everything everywhere is dressed in the colours of Yellow- the flowers of the mustard crop a colour associated with Mata Saraswathi. People dress in yellow dresses, make delicacies that are yellow in colour etc. Many families mark this day by sitting with babies and young children, encouraging their children to write their first words with their fingers, and some study or create music together.
