While covering songs on most days, I do not feel much pressure. The only pressure on me is that the day should not end up as a DOT day. I make sure that at least one writeup appears on the blog every day. Fortunately there has been no DOT days this year. The last DOT day of the blog was in December 2019.
The other “pressure”, apart from that of avoiding DOT day, is to make sure that guest posts are published within a day or so. If there is too much delay in publishing them then it may lead to avoidable misunderstanding. Then there is pressure of publishing articles that are topical (having to do with anniversaries, special days etc) which must be published on the appointed day otherwise they lose their relevance.

Another wonderful discovery, another song that I had never heard before. The film is ‘Zindagi’ from 1956. The music composition is by Mohammed Shafi.
Mohammed Shafi is the name I was trying to get to also, on 30th April, which is the remembrance day for him. After getting the post in place for C Arjun that evening, I was not able to pull together this post, for remembering Mohammed Shafi Sb.
Once again, another very talented music director about whom, not much information is available. After much searching, I am able to locate a very brief article by a gentleman named Qaseem Abbaasi on the web site ‘Apnaarchives.org’. I am including some details from that article in this post.

Today’s song is from film ‘Doctor Z’ from 1959.
The title seems funny, isn’t it? Somehow, I find that the film makers give bizarre titles to their films sometimes. Films with prefix Mr. or Dr. were plenty. The earliest such a Talkie film was ‘Mr. 420’ made in 1937. Later, ‘Mr. X’ was made in 1938. This was repeated in 1957 and 1984. ‘Mr. X in Bombay’ was made in 1964. ‘Mr. India’ came in 1961 and also 1987. There was a ‘Mr. Bechara’ in 1996, ‘Mr. Chakram’ in 1956, ‘Mr, Jhatpat’ in 1943, ‘Mr John’ in 1959, ‘Mr. Lamboo’ in 1956. ‘Mr. Romeo’ in 1973 and 1999. ‘Mr. Q’ in 1958, ‘Mr.Bond’ in 1992, ‘Mr. Azad’in 1994, ‘Mr .Dynamite’ in 1947, ‘Mr. Murder’ in 1969, ‘Mr. Qartoon, M.A.’ in 1958, ‘Mr. Sampat’ in 1952, ‘Mr. Toofan’ in 1963, ‘Mr. 100%’ in 2005, ‘Mr. Badmash’ in 2009, ‘Mr. Bhatti on Chhutti’ in 2012, ‘Mr. Hot and Mr. Cool’ in 2007, ‘Mr. Lonely Miss Lovely’ in 2004, ‘Mr. Prime Minister’ in 2005, ‘Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta’ in 2009, ‘Mr. White Mr. Black’ in 2007, ‘Mr. ya Mrs.’ in 2005, The most hilarious title in this category was ‘Mr. Khujli’ in 2007 !!!

Today’s song is quite a rare song. It is from film Khush Raho-49. This was a C grade stunt film, made by Sushil pictures, Bombay. Directed by Harbans,it had music by Shiv Dayal Batish. I say this is a rare song, for 2 reasons. One- in most cases, producers of stunt films were not interested in making commercial records of songs of their films. Reason – Usually, the composers of such low budget films were also unknown or less known composers. If at all, a well known composer was there, he rarely gave his best shot to stunt film, which attracted a fixed, low class audience. Second – Music or songs were not what attracted the audience of stunt films. So the songs rarely became well known and the records-if brought out at all-did not sell.

Today (27 may 2018) is the 3600th day for the blog. A quick mental calculation would show that one year has 365 days so ten years has (365 x 10) + 3 =3653 days. In other words, this blog is just 53 days short of turning TEN years old.
