Chitragupta is known as a music director, but just like a few other fellow music directors, he too had come to Bombay hoping to make it big as a singer, rather than as a music director. I have mentioned earlier that the original “Parineeta”, viz “Parineeta”(1953) had some lovely songs in it, though they have been forgotten by now.

Many people may only be aware of the new “Parineeta”, but in reality, the original and real “Parineeta” is the movie that was based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s story and it was picturised in 1953. It was made in Bangla, Hindi, and may be in other languages too.
