Kaisaa jaadoo balam toone daaraa

If one just goes through the lyrics of the song, this song may not appear to be much of a song. But just listen to this song. This song is sung so nicely that the song grows up on the listener and remains with him /her for several hours. That is what Lalitha felt about this song and mentioned while giving farmaish for this song. And when I listened to this song, I realised this fact myself.

I have heard this song “Nazar laagi raaja tore bangley par” several times, and from the voice I knew that it was a song sung by Asha Bhonsle. And I was also vaguely aware that the music of this song was composed by S D Burman. That is all I knew about this song.

In Bollywood movies, “Mujra” songs is one of a standard category of songs. Most people, including me, discuss such songs as a matter of course, without thinking much about this matter. But the songs of “Adalat” (1958), which are all “Mujra” songs force me to think about it.
