I have seen the movie “Jis Desh me Ganga bahti hai”(1960) but I was not paying attention and as such I do not remember much about this movie. So I had no information about the background of this song from this movie. Now I am told that this movie was about the dacoits of Chambal valley laying their arms and joining the mainstream of society. This song in fact exhorts them to come back to the society.

I have heard of “Usne kahaa tha” (1960), and I have heard of its song “aha rimjhim ke ye pyaare pyaare geet liye” too, but that is all I knew about this movie.

Here is a movie about which I had little idea. This movie “Miyaan Biwi Razi” (1960) starred Mehmood and Bharati. Neither the movie nor its music is familiar to me, but when I listened to this song from this movie today, I liked it.

I was not aware of this song. I listened to this song just now for the first time. What a wonderful song it is ! It must go down as one of the great romantic songs sung by Kishore Kumar.

This song “naani teri morni ko mor le gaye” is one of the most memorable children’s song in Bollywood. And this song to my mind has a very special place among all children’s song that we have had so far.

This song was almost edited out of the movie by its producer Vijay Bhatt who thought that this song, showing Hindu festival of Janmashtami had no place in this movie, but he was convinced by others that Akbar’s wife Jodhabai was a Hindu and so showing this song made sense.

The word “Chaand” (moon) found frequent use in bollywood songs in the past. It is a surprise that I have not yet thought of a catgory called “Chaand” song though I must have posted dozens of songs with this word in them. I guess I have included these songs in the category of “chaayaageet” songs.

There is one genre of songs in Bollywood that could be called Kishore kumar acted comedy songs. These songs, where Kishore Kumar acts as well as sings, and in addition does some great comedy as well, are worth going miles to watch.

I have discovered yet another gem of a song. This is from a movie called “Mud Mud Ke Naa Dekh” (1960). This was a movie with Bharat Bhooshan and Anita Guha in lead roles.
