This was a bilingual film made in Hindi and Marathi (in Marathi the title was ‘ Gorakhnath ‘). This was made by Arun Pictures, a banner floated and owned by the film’s director Bhal G. Pendharkar. Bhal ji, like V.Shantaram, was trained by the Kala Maharshi Baburao Painter, who employed them in his pioneer film company ‘ The Maharashtra Film Company’, Kolhapur.

Within the first 9 years, the film industry had shed its skin several times before beginning a new phase in the 40’s. Most artistes of the early Talkie era were those who came over from the Silent films. Many such artistes ended their careers while the remaining ones began ending their careers.
