This song is a rare song in more ways than one. First of all, this song from “Haay Mera Dil” (1968) is rare in the sense that I was neither aware of this movie nor of this song till recently. And secondly, this song is rare in the sense that this song is picturised on Kishore Kumar but the voice that sings the song is some other singer- Manna Dey in this case.

I have mentioned it in the past that Ganesh was a music director who deserved much better than what he achieved in Bollywood. He was just as talented if not more than Pyarelal (of Laxmikant Pyarelal fame, who was his brother).
